Please don't forget our Advent Party on 12/6/2009. We noticed that the Sierra Banquet Center is located on a road which doesn't show up on google maps or yahoo maps. So please have a look here: 
Also there is a Santa Claus, so bring a gift for you kids. In addition we will have white elephant gifts for the adults. And last but not least, please remember to bring some groceries for the needy as we will donate this to the Upper Room Dining Hall in Placerville. On Saturday October 17th, we met for a wine tasting at Villa Toscano in Plymouth (http://www.villatoscano.com). Some of our members were asking, if we couldn't do a wine tasting. Moelli recommended the Villa Toscano, as she know the owner. Villa Toscano offered a free wine tasting, besides this they do offer a buffet and also some snacks like salads or sandwiches from their Bistro. Actually their Pizza was really good! Unfortunate some of our members got sick, so they couldn't join us. But anyway we had a great time and I am pretty sure we will do this again next year. Have a look into our Gallery. |

"Ozapft is!" - Well, we could not offer those famous words nor the high prices you usually pay on the original Oktoberfest in Munich. But our event was quite successfully! We had fresh Spaten Beer from the keg, Bratwurst, Leberkas, Potatosalad and Krautsalad, Fischsemmeln, Lebkuchenherzen and live music. What a Party! We started at 2pm at Moodies place in Somerset, the place was decorated in traditional bavarian colors, white and blue.A lot a people were coming in traditional bavarian clothes: Dirndel and Lederhosen, even that we had approx. 100 degrees. At the end we were more than 140 people. We had livemusic with Accordion, Sax, Guitar and Drums; Bavarian Humpta music but also dance and other party music. We had so much fun. Soon I will publish some photos. But don't get to much rest, we will have a wine tasting on October 17th. For more details see our event section. |
